The Sigurtà Park and Gardens

The Sigurtà Park and Gardens opened to the public in 1978, although it has existed since the 1600s. It covers an area of 560,000 square meters and is located in the Morenic hills not far from Lake Garda. This garden park is considered one of the five most beautiful gardens in the world, thanks to the dedication of those who have cared for it over the centuries. Here one can find flowering plants of numerous species, 18 ponds with tropical fish, water gardens and beds with medicinal plants.
There are 7 km of paths to do on foot, bike, golf cart or miniature trains, along which to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
During the year, depending on the season, you can enjoy the roses, iris, tulips and asters in bloom. Splendid water lilies add value to the natural beauty of the park. It is possible to book guided tours which last an hour and a half, during which particular information is given on the park, the plants and the small animals that live there.
Scattered throughout the park are places where you can eat or get a refreshing drink, souvenir shops and a conference center.
There are occasionally social, humanitarian and artistic events that animate the park activities. The park can be reached by car from the Brescia–Venice autostrada – taking the Peschiera del Garda exit. Follow the signs for Valeggio sul Mincio. There are also visible signs indicating the Sigurta’ park.
